There are many times when you press on your iPhone home button, your device just freezes. Or it just won’t come back to home screen and this makes you go crazy pressing the button several times. It’s so annoying, and over time the situation gets worse. Here’s a trick to fix your unresponsive iPhone home button.
Step 1: Launch apps that was pre-installed with your Apple device
Step 2: Hold the Power button until you see “slide to power off” on the screen
Step 3: Let go of the power button then hold the Home button until the “slide to power off” disappears
And you’re done. You may now see that your iPhone home button works quite well. And we will never know why this trick works because there’s no science here. It just works like the “turning stuff off and on again” trick.
You can also use this trick on iPad and iPod touch Home button as well. In case the trick doesn’t work (there’s no science so that can happen), then apparently your device has a hardware problem and the best thing to do is have it taken apart to repair. Or you can use Assistive Touch to enable a virtual Home key but it will take up a space on your screen which you can usually click on by accident when playing games or editing documents. Just go to Settings – General – Accessibility – Assistive Touch to activate the feature.
